This series comprises a range of figurative and portraiture works.  It includes some redheads as  growing up in Ireland as a redhead I was always embarrassed about my red hair and freckles.  Now I’m wise enough to know that being a redhead is something to celebrate and be proud of!

The Crimson Chair series I and II weaves together stories of everyday solitude, drawing the viewer into intimate spaces of introspection and stillness.  Crimson Chair II is a nod to my fabulous Sydney book clubbers.

This was part of the work I did during my Diploma of Visual Arts in 2024.  Unfortunately, the self-explanatory theme is still relevant today.

Swing for Two (SOLD)

This collage work is inspired by an old Victorian photograph of two young identical twins – most likely part of a circus act. Twins have always interested me due to their unique communication and inherent understanding of each other.

Visibility (SOLD) As we get older, many people feel they become invisible. The multiple layers highlight my complex, multi-faceted sense of identity, history and memories and my belief that we all have a purpose – even when we are older.
The ambiguity of the figurative suggestions and layered textures allows viewers to interpret the works in ways that relate to their own experiences of identity and evolution.

Frances (SOLD)  Frances Brown aged 21 was the seventh victim in the 1964 Jack the Stripper case and a key witness in the hearing of Stephen Ward in the Profumo Affair.
